These are but a few of the sayings we take comfort in when we need to deal with change. They remind us that in the end, it is really up to us how we handle how our life changes.
While I certainly do not relish being the one to break bad news nor do I want to be on the receiving end of such, I can certainly appreciate how difficult it is to try to put the change in a positive perspective – for both for the messenger and the receiver.
It is difficult to see people go, let alone let them go. The compulsion to explain is always there. Maybe this is to to assuage one’s guilt especially if it could mean a loss of earning or life for them. Maybe it is pride for failing your team or your family even if you have done all there is to do.
On the other side of the fence is when you are on the receiving end. The self-questioning, the perceived weakness are sometimes just to daunting to take on. It is more important though to make it a self-inventory and see what else can I do? what else should I look into?
Change always creates an opportunity because it forces you to either trudge on and keep trying or to change gears and at some point, shift direction. It is a competitive world out there but not totally unforgiving.

hopefully the messenger delivers it “nicely” so as not to add insult to injury.
