The Royal Albert Dock in Liverpool was opened in 1846 and is a complex of docks and warehouses first to be built with cast iron, brick and stone and no structural wood. It now is a functioning tourist spot complete with restaurants and small shops and musuems, too.
For the instances I walked around the complex, it was biting cold but it was fun nonetheless. If I lived nearby, it would be my go to walk around area to loose calories and still have some good scenery to enjoy. And there should always be that ice cream truck around 🙂
While I wasn’t really able to explore the place, there are a lot of interesting areas around the area worth visiting – Tate Liverpool which is a gallery of visual arts, Merseyside Maritime Museum, International Slavery Museum. HMS Conway Anchor, The Beatles Story to name a few. The visits may cost a little but they should be worth it.
At the very least, make sure to drop by the Beatles Story for some fab 4 merchandise.
