2020 Quarantine Buys

2020 saw most of us forced to stay and work from home for about 3 quarters of the year. Most of us got creative and to beat the stress and/or to help my life a little easier, i ended buying a number of items whether online or the trusty S&R. And these are what I would consider my happy purchases – simply because they made me smile and forget about my worries and stress, even for a bit. 😀

While no stranger with a remote work arrangement, i found myself using housework as a way to destress from the grueling and longer working hours. I find myself mopping the floor in between lulls when I have to think. And I have to do the occasional changing of. bulbs and other household tasks. And having the right tools and equipment always makes life easier. Like this ladder which I got on sale! 😀

I have recently gone back to baking but I really just bake what I want to eat. Which really means bread , specifically pan de sal 🙂 And as they say, baking requires exact measurements so I got me this digital weighing scale for a steal. An 11.11 purchase.

And given that I had limited access to coffee shops, I switched to french press and later on, using the moka pot . Whenever I need a stronger caffeine kick, this is what comes in handy.

Working during a pandemic has brought in stressful conditions and when they started manifesting physically ( i.e. migraines, backaches and all kinds of aches, fitful sleep), I decided to give essential oils a try and so far, it is working for me. Using a diffuser, I seem to get a deeper sleep even if it is just for 4-5 hours. And I have fun doing roller blends for specific purposes!

And my most fun and loved buy would be this 13.3″ MacBook Pro which I got on discount 🙂 And I just hd to pair it with the logitech bluetooth keyboard K380 that allows me to connect to up to 3 devices via bluetooth.

While 2020 may have been punishing and harsh, I am still grateful to be able to afford this small luxuries to reward myself for just pummeling through.
