travels past: Boulders Beach Penguin Colony

DSC_0749

Boulders Beach Penguin Colony is a protected colony for the endangered African penguin. It sits by Boulders bay near picturesque Simon’s town. There is a walkway where people can observe the African penguins in their natural habitat.

Why visit ?

Because of the African penguins, of course! they pretty much are accustomed to all the clicks and oohs and ahhs of the people who come to visit.  They are pretty much constrained to the south western coast of Africa.

and bullying is apparently a part of life, even for penguins.

there are souvenirs to be had on the way out ( or in for that matter) near the parking area and along the road leading to Boulder beach.

Entrance will cost 160 ZAR for 1 person for non-residents  but i found it money well spent for a few hours just ogling over penguins.
