Musings

wish lists.

lists seem to be very big nowadays.
there are bucket lists, top destinations, top in whatever and of course, there is always the christmas wish list.

i recently got shared with a christmas wish list that tugged at my heart.
cancer and wish list is a kinda potent combination you see. more so if the wishers were indigents and kids, to boot.

going through the list made me realise a few things.
1) some wishes you would think were too materialistic – a phone, a tab, a laptop. but if you think of how they might not be around for long, or that this wish list might be there only chance of having these things, you might think differently

2) there will always be that person who , no mater how their condition is, still wishes for his/her loved ones. like the kid that wished for a bicycle for trisikad.

3) there are wishes that you would like to grant but you can’t. and that the only thing you can give is hope and prayers. like that kid who wished for medicines and complete healing.

with the holidays approaching, we celebrate our blessings with gifts and food.
let’s include those who cannot give back in our celebration. let’s all be a santa, in our own little way.
