[laag 2014] Mövenpick Hotel and Spa Cebu

17 – 18 january 2014

Movenpick Hotel and Spa Cebu has been getting a lot of press and thumbs up of late so it has been in my radar for some time now. My baby sis’ vacay and my Dad’s upcoming birthday were a perfectly good excuses to check it out.

Even with the gusty winds that came with Agaton, we still had a really wonderful time in the resort. The weather then was quite chilly for a swim but it was surprisingly refreshing – the swim that is.

And their crispy pata was the best I have tasted so far. The food was relatively cheap for a resort and so worth the price.  And as always, it is better described with photos!

beautifully designed.
definitely good for family bonding.
class with comfort.
and their crispy pata is worth coming back for

How to get there:

Mövenpick Hotel and Spa Cebu is just around the bend after Mactan Shangrila.
If coming from the Mactan International Airport, you can take a taxi and head off towards Punta Engano.
Some landmarks that you should be passing by would be the Mactan Export Processing Zone, STK ( a popular local area for restaurants that serve fresh seafood ), the Lapu-lapu shrine which is right beside STK and  the Mactan Shangrila Resort and Spa.

Accommodation:
You can stay in one of the condo residences or better yet, book a hotel room preferably on the higher floors of the hotel. The view from what I have seen can be breathtaking.

Must try:

Mövenpick’s  crispy pata is a must not miss. Definitely crispy and so mouthwatering.
Their lobby as well is such a comfortable place to pass the time away or even telecommute. It is also quite a pretty sight, especially as it offers a seafront view. For telecommuters like me, their fast internet is good enough for me to get my usual tasks done.
Mövenpick’s beachfront is also tastefully well laid out. You can just laze away the day on their lounge chairs if you don’t feel like going for a swim.

All in all, I would say Mövenpick’s is a resort worth visiting, not just during the summer month but throughout the year.
