Musings

my varekai weekend

july 2, 2011

when i first heard that cirque du soleil was coming to the PH, i knew i had to make an effort to watch them again. my first cirque experience was their show in tokyo sometime in 2001ish and “hidam” made me realize the circus can be a place of art. 🙂

understandably, we could not take photos  during the show so we had to make do where it was allowed. the show was truly amazing. the colors, the segments, the actors, they were truly fantastic. it was like  seeing through the mind of the artist who conceptualized this show. well worth each centavo we paid for. on top of the fact that we got moved to much better seats 😉

the cirque venue was at the quirino grandstand and we were staying at the corporate inn hotel which was a stone’s throw away so we walked to and back.  walking back finally realized one of my want to say things,  “namasyal sa luneta, ng walang pera” hehe.

rizal park is probably one of the few public parks (if not the only one) here in PH that we can be proud of.  we really should have more parks like this all over the country.

the day was capped by a foodie trip to binondo, manila. we went to a place called wai ying fastfood and considering that we had to do a bee line before getting some seats, we knew this place was a find. the food was so yummy it made the wait a very small price to pay. and it was very wallet friendly as well 🙂 eng bee tin was also a stop in the foodie trip where we found hopia with tikoy inside! what can be more chinese than that? 🙂
