the feast

it was more like a feast for the spirit actually. i had only intended to attend mass. my dear friend invited me to go with her and she did warn me there will be a “talk” by bo sanchez after the mass. and so the date was set. after breakfast (courtesy of the company), we proceeded to valle verde club where “the feast” was to be.

the mass was in itself, already festive. what with a band backing up the choir 😉
after the mass has officially ended, i was “pleasantly” surprised that it continued on to a 15-minute praise through songs. there was clapping and raising of hands and singing soulfully (i.e singing with the heart).

after the “worship” ended, bo sanchez did finally come in..but only thru video to introduce the speaker for the day. bo was then in dubai for a series of talks there. but the one who did the talk on the dreaded diseases of the soul (i.e. fear, despair, apathy) was an equally charming man. he said we’d have to make do with ob(et) instead of bo for now. 🙂

it was an enlightening talk punctuated with witty/funny quips. and what was really touching was the admission of the speaker that he once had and still is suffering from diseases of the soul. but slowly, he is taking hold of his situation with the Lord’s help.

this experience made me realize that in our own way, we can be healed and be of help in healing others. simply by practicing a lifestyle of faith, love, hope.
